Raumars has chosen following artists and their projects among 37 applications.

   

Mary Hyunhee Song (s. 1981) Irleland/Korea, curator.

Time: 1st February 15th May 

Exhibition at Gallery 3h+kk 1st - 24th April

Projects: Distance Making & Reducing in collaboration with local artists and Marianne Csaky, Ki-woun Shin, Roxana Manoucheri and Gigi Scaria.  Cooking and Talking performance plus a Seminar Talk by an invited artist: ”When you travel with your art” by Roxana Manoucheri.

Supplemental artist: 

Nayari Castillo (s. 1977) England. Projecti: Movies in Display. The idea is to generate a dialogue concerning visions of memoy indside community construckting a map of change of the neighborhood.

 

Iveta Laure (s. 1962) Latvia.

Time: 16th May - end of August.

Projekti: Site-specific objects in the old town installed on the wooden buildings.

Supplemental artist: Frédérique Hervet (s. 1955) France. Project: ”Ordinary treasure”, what we feel what we see in the daily travel.

                     

Alessandro Mancassola (s. 1979) & Barbara Ceriani Basilico (s.1979) Italy.

Time end of August - end of October

Projekct: Fans (Living Rauma among hockey supporters. Turning a strong passion in a professional high level experience). 

 

Jihee Min (s. 1980) Kanada.

Time: November - December

Project: Lace Project Rauma. Create three sculptural fonts of word ”Lace” in Finnish by using collected handwritings from Rauma citizens. 

 

Markuz Wernli Saito (s. 1968) Switzerland/Japan.

Time: January - March 2012.

Projekti: The Salt Foundry: A playful experimet on food, body and human exchanges.

 

For general supplemantal artist Raumars has chosen Subrata Acharya (s. 1975) India. Projecti: Patachitra scroll paintings.

Mizuho Matsunaga (s. 1976, Japani). Lives and works in Germany

Period: June 16th - August 10th

Fields of art: sculptures, installations

Community group to work with: lacemakers, children, citizens.

Project: Angel's Prade 31st July during the Lace Week. The highlight of the project is the fashion show, with a process of a workshop, in which clothes will be produced using paper-cut technique. Rauma lace to decorate the clothers will also be paper.

Ayumi Matsuzaka (s. 1978). Germany

Period: August 11th  - end of September

The Japanese artist Ayumi matsuzaka moved in the early 2000s to Europe, where she studied art in Weimar, Germany and in Venice, Italy. Currently she lives in Berlin, but carries out projects all over Europe. In summer 2009 Matsuzaka stayed at Suomenlinna artists in residence. In October-November she exhibits in a group show Borders & Beyond at the Kunshalle in Helsinki.
